Looking for a Deckhand or Stew/Deck position

Hi there, I’m Ruby Collier!

This past summer season I have spent in the Mediterranean on a 23m Racing Sailing Catamaran looking after both private and charter guests. Charters have varied from 1 - 3 weeks at a time with different nationalities and ages onboard, visiting numerous places and experiencing various sea conditions, details of which can be found on my CV.
For the winter this boat is going in for defect rectification and therefore does not need crew, due to this I have immediate availability.

My passion for working on boats started during summers crewing on my dads motorboat (55ft) around the South Coast of England. I therefore decided to go to Rockley College to gain my watersport instructor qualifications and went to Flying Fish on the Isle of Wight to get my Deckhand and Safety Qualifications. My last few summers were spent working on smaller powerboats making sure they were well kept after and maintained while being driven around Poole Harbour. Last summer I also worked abroad in Kefalonia, Greece, working as a Sailing Instructor for both children and adults challenging myself in different environments and conditions to gain new life skills.

I am a great crew member as I am a hard working, outgoing character, personable and have a good sense of humour. I enjoy meeting new people, travelling and exploring new cultures.
Due to my past recreational use of motor boats and this season on a sailing yacht I have a lot of transferable skills to bring to a professional career including my knot tying, mooring up, teaching abilities, watching the bridge on several passages around the Mediterranean and scuba dive experience. I also have lots of hospitality and customer service experience to make sure anyone who comes onboard feels welcome and at home with me by their side.
