Deckhand
Hi skippers,
first of all a the best wishes for 2025!
This year I would like to pick up my aspirations to become a skipper and therefore looking to gain experiences as part of a crew on a sailingboat! I am a 36 year old and single. Ready to fully take a challenging opportunitiy to enhance my skills and start building some mileage for future exams.
In 2019 I tried to launch myself in the sailingworld and passed the STCW course at Bluewater Antibes in October 2019. After this I went to the Canary Islands for my RYA competent crew course certificate and I was lucky to be part of a groupe who were doing their RYA day skipper course, so I got to learn some extra skills. Able to prepare the boat for departure, hoisting, dropping and reefing the mainsail, and handling the headsail. The boat we are on was a Jeanneau Sun Fast 37. Unfortenately covid came up and plans were put on a hold.
With the fantiastic memories of those couple weeks in the Canaries I find myself today with the same desire and grinta to retake a shot! I will be visiting Palma de Mallorca from 3 - 10 january and I am open to talk about any possibilities. Destination is less important for me then the possibility of learning new skills!
I have lived 10 years on the Cote d'Azur working in hotels around Cannes and Antibes, where my sailing dreams started! Nowadays I am an operations manager of 4 star business hotel. From these experience I became a hard worker, have an eye for detail, know how to anticipate and know that good preparation is key. From young age I've been an outdoor-person, doing multiple sports and being an active member of boyscout for several years.
For any questions or more information do not hesitate to contact me. For a good and stable opportunity I am willing to move no matter where. (only for sailing yachts)
Kind regards and a wonderfull start of 2025!!
Thomas
