Looking for a Mile Building or Competent Crew Position
Hi, I'm Carl, I own a 1970's Guy Thompson 31 Sailing Yacht (mono hull) moored on Menai Straits in Wales, U.K. and have been sailing for 5 years. Prior to that I owned a Humber Dive RHIB for 4 years. I'm retired now, but fit and healthy, go to the gym, cycle, hike and scuba dive. I have done three crew volunteer positions in 2024, most recently in November around Greek Islands staring from Kos and ending up in Rhodes, in April around Scotland and Northern Ireland, and in March from La Rochelle in France. I am looking for more opportunities to crew and gain more experience, UK, Europe and Worldwide. I have a RYA Yachtmaster qualification, Power Boat Handling qualification and hold a Marine VHF operators qualification / licence. I am a qualified Electronics Engineer (in 2021 I did a full rewire of my yacht), and have Mechanical Engineering and Engine maintenance experience. I’m easy going, great sense of humour, always willing to listen and learn (every day’s a school day!) and can cook, even without the aid of a can opener!
