Practical sailing license (FB2) done - ready to get more sailing experience
My name is Kathi and I would love to spend a view week sailing this summer.
I sailed from the Netherlands (Medemblik) to Spain (Motril) from July 2021 to October 2022 on a Phantom 35, with my former partner, and for the most part, no autopilot. We lived pretty independently and after the English Channel, we went on anchor most of the time. We had our ups and downs, things broke (Geonav, fridge..) or did not work from the beginning (anchor winch, radar,..) or were lost on the way (dinghy paddle). We managed to get the boat in good shape and renewed most of the interior.
I still need to learn a lot about boat maintenance and sailing. I got a clue about what it means to take care of a boat. I got pretty good at sewing sails, preparing the boat to dock, and doing routine tasks (securing the boat, sail cover, coil lines, ..). I do like to cook and keep it clean. I did get seasick on our boat. Sea medicine helped a lot, but night shifts were the most challenging part, for my partner and me. I got introduced to ginger tea and it helped me with my seasickness.
I have a FB2 sailing licence in 2023 and would love the opportunity to go sailing.
I am currently in Vienna and I like to travel somewhere around Europe. I would very much enjoy a trip to the Canary Islands or Madeira. I was diving in Greece last summer and I am looking forward to many more dives!

Great crew.
Kathi crewed for me on my 12m sailboat from April to July 2023. She came aboard ready to sail and be an integral part of the crew. Open minded and questioning attitude for unfamiliar tasks. Great cook! Very athletic, excellent at Backgammon, great attitude, definitely welcome back anytime.
