2025 NZ - Looking for mile building crewing (mile building for RYA Yachtmaster Offshore cert.)
I have my RYA YACHTMASTER (COASTAL) CERT (practical & theory) - currently based in NZ.
Other Certificates: - VHF License. - RYA Radar Cert. - STCW First Aid Cert (through UKSA). - STCW Sea Survival Techniques (through UKSA).
I am a Kiwi male. I have a some coastal 1st mate experience (sailed 7 weeks around Portugal in 2016 and 3 weeks in 2019 from Morocco to Alimenter) 4 wks 2024 Plymouth to Faro.
As part of my mile building from RYA Yachtmaster Coastal to Yachtmaster Offshore, I have completed 4 x 60 NM passages (2 of which were overnight and 2 of which I was Captain). I also own a small yacht (22ft) which I have done a good amount of overnight/day sailing over the past few years.
Other things. I trained as an Organisational Psychologist. My last role was working in UK hospitals on team performance. I have also worked in a number of disaster relief operations. I am used to working with a broad range of people, in testing situations. I keep my head when things go wrong.
I now run an online business with 20 staff. This offers me an exceptional amount of freedom.
