I am a retired company owner, recently widowed with a passion to travel and explore.
My body is 67 years old, in good shape fit energetic and adventurous, my mind is still that of a 25-year-old.
I have travelled the world extensively both for business and pleasure, being retired I have the urge to sail. i had experience last year sailing from Scotland to Spain but had to jump ship in Ireland due to a hand infection from a cut. Although this was only a few weeks on a Bavaria 44 I learnt a great deal, this year i helped sail a 60' er from Burmuda to Virgina USA, orginal plan from Burmuda to the Med but due to some technical problems 4 day trip to the US was sensible alternative. i helped with many on board mecanical repairs plus navigatoin and the usual watch rotation. I am sure that I could now make a valuable and reliable contribution to any boat. i was also accepted by the insurance under writter as "Compitent Crew" for the purpose of atlantic crossing due to my aviation / flying experience and limited sailing. i now have the sailing bug and want more! .. I am financially self-sufficient and very keen to learn. i have taken basic RYA sailing and courses plus Navigation & seamanship theory.
I hold a current pilot licence (airplane) over 20 years, I have a part share in a fast complex aircraft having taken all the theoretical exams and currently Instrument rated.
I believe I could be a valuable member of any crew, prepared to undertake all duties.
