Claude Turner
I joined the United States Marine Corps in 2008. My first two years I was in infantry as a rifleman, my last two years I was in the intelligence field working with images and map reading. From the military I gained a very solid work ethic. I am extremely dependable and I always complete the task at hand. With the military I have completed over twenty-five training courses and passed four military service schools. I have training in everything from Combat Lifesaving to Leadership courses.
I have passed the International Yacht Training course (IYT), PADI open water diving certification, CPR certified by the American Red Cross, and also completed a basic sailing course that was three months in the British Virgin Islands. I have basic knowledge of operating a radio and nautical map reading. I also have my Florida fishing license, an international driving license, and a TEFL certification for Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
I have currently lived in Bangkok, Thailand for over three years. My first two years I held a variety of positions as an instructor, a student, and a facilitator. The school that I had worked for is called Darunsikkhalai School for Innovative Learning, it is an innovative school that uses Seymour Papert's and many constructionism teaching principles to help educate it's students. The school is connected to Stanford University and works many cross-multicultural courses with its educators and students.
After instructing for two years, I began working freelance on many different jobs opportunities that I came across. I have currently built a portfolio of work that includes modeling, photography, music curating, tutoring, teaching, e-commerce, building websites, social marketing, fitness training, nutrition courses, cooking, and film production.
I came here to Crew Bay in search of an opportunity that I would not be able to turn down. What I am interested in is trips to circumnavigate the globe or end up in remote areas of the World that promise adventure.
My current/future goals for Maritime adventures:
- Refresh my diving and get back to the water
- Get my nitrox, rebreather, and instructor diving certifications
- Purchase a vessel
- Get my private pilot's license
- Radio Operating Certification
- Emergency Medical Transponder (EMT) certification
- Get my Captain's License
