Ron Mobley
My name is Ron Mobley and I am a retired Fire Fighter/Paramedic. I was born in Miami Florida and raised in the Florida Keys. I now live in the Virgin Islands on board my 47 Vagabond S/V Island Siren. I have owned and operated boats from the time I was 8 years old and started sailing as a teenager. My passage making goes back before the day of GPS and chart plotters and I have thousands of miles under keel.
I have never been sea sick and enjoy off shore sailing the most. From my sailing experience and my career as a fire fighter, I have learned to work well in stressful situations and still make sound decisions. I appreciate the benefits of working as a crew and encourage input from others, realizing that someone must make the final decision. Coming from an island life style I am easy going and get along with most. However, I have no problem taking charge when needed.
I bring with me vast experience and knowledge along with the belief that if you take care of the boat, the boat will take care of you. I have a good working knowledge of boats and marine systems and can resolve or fix most problems underway.
