Steve sailed with me from NZ to Vanuatu along with Rob, Rini and Racheal, Steve's girlfriend. The actual passage took only 6 days however checking into Tanna was problematic with the immigration officer unavailable so we headed for Erromango to wait the weekend out and pick up better wind to sail into Vila. Unfortunately this delay was too much for Steve and he tried to hitch a ride with other yachties heading to Vila, but no one would take him. He became very upset, continued calling the locals nignogs and the Village chief told me not to let him come ashore again. He locked himself and his girl friend in the main cabin for two days and left the yacht in Vila without checking in. Suffice to say Steve would probably be OK for a few days if you are willing to put up with the constant spectrum barrage, he knows a lot and has to share it. Unfortunately we had delays before we left and the total time together was 4 plus weeks. Too much for Steves controlling personality.
