RYA/MCA YM Offshore power and sail 200gt, commercially endorsed and PADI MSDT Instructor
Searching for a change of lifestyle and work balance. Currently working towards my Master 200/OOW 500.
Already with many thousands of miles in both recreational and commercial vessels, I am looking to grow more and share my experiences and knowledge with others.
I am an MSc Eng and have worked as a project management consultant in the oil and gas industry for more than 35 years. Being very hands on and ready to roll up my sleeves, I have done just about every industry related job; from painting pipe to managing very large projects both on and offshore. As a self motivator, I can work independently, as part of or managing a team. Able to multi task, with great attention to detail.
Also, as a technical service/sales professional, my key priority was my clients welfare and service. I am comfortable dealing with any kind of client, for what ever reason at any level. I have previous experience from the hospitality, marketing and retail industries too.
I have been sailing for over 45 years, starting out in dinghies, progressing up to 30m mono and catamaran.
Positions: Charter/delivery skipper, AB/Deck hand, navigational watch
Experience: 25 years charter, delivery, commercial work/dive boat, live aboard sail dive boat, high speed CTV
UK areas worked: UK Inland canals and tidal rivers, Thames, Solent, English Channel, North Sea. Scotland Inner and Outer Hebrides, St. Kilda, North Atlantic
Worldwide areas worked: Biscay, Mediterranean, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Philippines
Vessel Types: Up to 30m, Multi-cat, Tug/tow and push barge, RHIB high speed, Conver, Frack, Supply, DSV, CTV, Recreational dive boat and live aboard, Offshore rig and platforms
Propulsion and hull: Prop single/twin/triple, stern, jet and azimuth, Mono/Cat
