Canadian couple with some sailing experience seeking a 1–2 week trip in Europe with an experienced skipper in July 2025.
Hi! We are François (57) and Rosalie (48), a couple who share a passion for exploration and the joys of life. We’re looking for a one- or two-week sailing experience as crew.
We’ll be in France from July 18–27 for a wedding and would love to join a sailing yacht with an experienced skipper anywhere in Europe—either before or after that week.
If these dates work for you and you’d enjoy having us on board, let’s connect! We’re happy to answer any questions via email or video call—and will likely have a few of our own.
ABOUT US
François grew up in Brittany, France, and moved to Canada 25 years ago. Rosalie is from Montreal, Canada, and has lived in three other countries, traveling extensively for both work and pleasure. We met in 2016 and have since lived in four locations, including three in Canada and two years in Cameroon. We’re both fluent in French and English.
Curious, open-minded, and easygoing, we love meeting new people, engaging conversations, and quiet moments alike. Our favorite pastimes include board games, music, cooking, and savoring a good meal with a glass of wine in good company.
We love exploring and learning about everything. Being on and in the water brings us immense joy—whether sailing, kayaking, snorkeling, or swimming. Road trips are another passion, letting us discover new places at our own pace. Rosalie enjoys walking and hiking, while François often prefers relaxing at a taverna patio, in the water, or keeping busy with a project onboard.
OUR SAILING EXPERIENCE
Rosalie has RYA Competent Crew and Day Skipper certifications (2015) and has logged over 1,000 nautical miles as crew in the Aegean and Adriatic Seas—including a night passage from Montenegro to Italy—as well as in the Caribbean.
François completed a Basic Cruising course with Sail Canada in 2021. That same year, we embarked on a week-long sailing trip in Greece, exploring the Cyclades with a skipper.
While we have some experience, our sailing adventures have been infrequent, and we both need a refresher (and some patience!) to reactivate our skills. As we regain confidence, we’d feel most comfortable with coastal sailing and short passages.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US AS CREW
If you welcome us aboard, we offer:
- Financial contribution to share expenses, as per our agreement.
- A positive attitude, curiosity, and eagerness to learn and assist based on your level of comfort with our abilities.
- Active participation in daily tasks (cleaning, meal planning, shopping, cooking) to contribute to an enjoyable life onboard.
- Respect for your boat, safety rules, and your authority as skipper.
- Appreciation for the simple comforts of a sailing yacht and for nights at anchor in (we understand marinas can be expensive and crowded).
- Flexibility to adapt to weather conditions, active or quiet days, and your lifestyle.
- Sociability, enjoying group meals and activities while also valuing occasional couple time.
- Easy-going dietary preferences: we eat almost everything and can adapt to a vegetarian diet.
- A responsible attitude: we are non-smokers, do not use drugs, and do not drink during the day or while sailing. We enjoy wine occasionally when anchored or onshore but are fine without alcohol.
We look forward to hearing from you and, hopefully, sharing a beautiful sailing trip together!
