Looking to be a Deckhand, Competent Crew, Racing crew or Mechanic/Deckhand position
Hello! I hope you're all happy and well.
My name is Seth, I'm 22 and looking for a deckhand opportunity aboard a vessel.
Important note: Dual nationality, Dutch and New Zealand passport holder.
With just under 1,000 hours of commercial fishing experience as a decky, and 1,200 nautical miles of solo sailing experience, I feel as though I can be a great addition to your crew!
Holding STCW, Medical ENG1, and an NZ Skipper (SRL) ticket, I have a strong foundation in vessel operations, safety procedures, and seamanship. Additionally, my eight years as a surf lifeguard have reinforced my situational awareness, emergency response skills, and ability to perform under pressure.
My experience includes deck maintenance, line handling, navigation assistance, watchkeeping and tender operations. Working in commercial fishing has instilled a strong work ethic and attention to detail, while my solo sailing experience has developed my problem-solving skills and self-sufficiency. I integrate well into teams, adapt quickly to new challenges, and maintain a professional, proactive approach to my work.
