Looking for a Novice Crew, Friendship or Voluntary work position
Hi great to meet you I'm Simon.
I am looking to gain experience and take part in sailing around the world. I have been on sailboats before for recreation (although would count myself as novice) and am looking to develop my skills to become competent. I am very active and enjoy hiking, canyoning and running. I'm more than capable to hold my own on a sailboat and comfortable taking instruction and learn quickly. I'm currently backpacking in Europe but I am flexible to meet you wherever is convenient.
I like playing card games, chatting about life, reading and adventuring to beautiful places. I usually work as an environmental lawyer but I am currently on a career break to see what else life has to offer. I love physical activity, and will likely take part in any activities available.
I have extensive experience performing and teaching first aid. In a previous life I was a first aid instructor, pool lifeguard (PLG) and PLG instructor. I've seen my fair share of critical incidents and can keep a cool head under pressure. My first aid qualification has lapsed (due to travel).
I have a good understanding of how to operate dangerous equipment safely and effectively. I managed recreation centres (Pools, Gyms, Saunas etc) managing both people and performing maintenance commercial pool filtration and chemical systems. This included conducting manual operation and handling poisonous chemicals.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Simon
