Northern Italy to Southern Spain passage

Northern Italy to Southern Spain
We are looking to travel from Genoa, Italy, down to the southern parts of Spain (Valencia or Alicante) on a 4 cabin Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42 (new April 2024). We have already done significant passages and it has all new safety equipment. If you are looking to build miles for qualifications, the journey would be over 500nm most likely along the French and Spanish coast, with possible passages between the islands / mainland dependent on weather. We are looking for experienced crew who is able bodied and strong to be able to handle the workings of a boat, experience in night watch is definitely preferable. We will provision the boat for the journey, but if you want specific foods, you may have to contribute. If eating on shore, it is not covered by the boat. Marina costs will be covered by the vessel as will fuel and general costs. There may be flexibility with dates. We look forward to receiving your CV.

  • Boat descriptionThis is a 2024 hull, with all of the current up to date safety equipment. Liferaft, flares, epirbs, PLB's, self inflating life jackets, Internet etc. The vessel has already done some Atlantic passages and been through some heavy weather. it has two upgraded D2-50 engines so has power into weather. In general we reef early and follow the sail plan. The vessel handels well up to 35deg to wind, but is not fast. In 20 knots on a beam reach with two reefs will sit at about 7 to 8 knots. The sail plan has a large main and first reef is done at helm reef 2 and 3 are at the mast. We carry a 95sqm code zero, which is the right conditions will sit the vessel at between 10 to 12 knots The vessel is equipped with AIS, Radar, autopilot and the usual other equipment. There are four cabins each with there own head and two shared showers.
