Cruising New England to Beaufort NC, Beaufort to St Martins, Caribbean

Who I’m looking for.......

Having sailed over 150,000 miles around the worlds oceans with a female partner I have been single these last 5 years. I would like to invite onboard a lady who is excited by the prospect of a care free life spent mostly in tropical climes

Someone young at heart physically and mentally, capable of thinking on the fly and adaptable to change of plans.

Crew has own cabin as required.

Itinerary........

I’m presently cruising in Maine, USA and will be heading south as weather permits to Beaufort NC which will the jumping off point for an offshore passage to the Caribbean mid to late November.

It would be possible and preferable for someone joining me to do so somewhere between Newport, RI and New York so we can get to know each other before committing to an offshore passage.

This could happen as soon as late Sept.

I have an idea to spend the winter in the French Islands but nothing is set in stone.

About the captain.......

I’m a very experienced, safety focused captain and I sail to the motto “The patient sailor always has a fair wind”. Therefore I’m happy to wait for the right weather window.

Life at sea has kept me physically and mentally young for my age. I like to cook and appreciate good food, being of European background and also a world traveller for many years I have a varied diet onboard.

Social drinker and not at sea. A non smoker of any substance.

I’m a British and more recently Canadian citizen with a European background. I also have many connections in Australia/New Zealand.

I have many skill sets and do all repairs/upgrades myself. I love good food and really appreciate it when others are also proficient in the area.

About Mahayana.........

Mahayana is a Sunder 60, often called the ultimate cruiser for a small crew who want to sail fast and comfortably. Designed by Steve Dashew with hundreds of thousands of miles sailed around the world she is very well thought out, immensely strong with redundant systems, water tight bulkheads and many other safety systems. She is easily sailed from the cockpit with all electric winches and lines lead aft so no need to leave the sheltered cockpit for setting or reefing sails. The fixed solid pilot house gives great visibility and protection.

Mahayana has gone through a very comprehensive refit (23/24) including a new engine, generator, sails, rigging, electronics, water maker, stove, refrigeration, solar and so much more. She is fully equiped, like a small condo, for extended periods in remote places.

She has a great dingy and paddle boards for exploration. Starlink provides fast internet for weather, entertainment and remote working.

I look forward to hearing from you:)

Wonderful journey!

Joined Geoff from Miami to Bahamas. Excellent boat, spacious cabins, living room, deck & washrooms. Well organized big kitchen. A lot of space on the boat. Geoff is a well experienced captain. Pretty handy to fix everything on the boat...plus he's a good cook too. We had fun & relaxed sailing & anchoring. Highly recommend anyone to sail with this gentleman to enjoy the sun & sea in a comfortable setting over good food and conversations!
