Short Notice - Delivery / Skills Builder on Challenge 72; Cardiff - Milford Haven
72 foot sail training vessel Challenge Wales is looking for 4 crew to help deliver her from Penarth Marina (near Cardiff Bay) to Milford Haven (West Wales). The voyage is also a Sailing Skills Builder allowing people to improve their sailing knowledge.
We have 4 places available that we are looking to fill as soon as possible.
This is a delivery (although not a straight delivery) as there are plans to stop at anchorages (possibly in Tenby) and all those onboard will be involved in running the boat, cooking, cleaning as a team with everyone prepared to get stuck in!
You need to be a teamplayer and get on with others. This is an adult-only voyage.
This trip is ideal for those who are Competent Crew or Day Skipper although we will take novices. It is a great opportunity to sail a big boat in the UK. Other people currently booked on this voyage are seeing it as a short Sailing Skills Builder opportunity or looking to become a volunteer with Challenge Wales but we just need a few more people to help crew and ensure we have optimum numbers onboard to get the best out of the trip.
You will need to make your own way to and from the boat and cover costs for food ashore although we plan to do most cooking onboard
You will Join the boat in Penarth Marina (near Cardiff Bay) at 4pm on Monday 10th June although if you want to maximise your time off from work then join us after work on the Monday evening. This voyage is unlikely to include night sailing. You can depart the boat by 3pm on the 13th June in Milford Haven.
There is a shared contribution of £22 per day (so cost will be £66). This will include lifejackets, waterproofs, training, sailing experience, marina fees, port fees, food/refreshments while onboard.
Please note Challenge Wales is a dry-boat and no smoking/no vaping.
